BBQ Bash and Dinner with Love from the lovely Ladies of KPL & aKDP

April 2nd, 2010 gQ1899

Sorry for the lack of updates! We’ve been busy doing nominations, exams, term papers, and fun events that we’ve (being me) forgotten to update the site! Lets do some updates then.

BBQ Under the Stars

What a great event! We had burgers, hot dogs, & chicken (sorry for everyone who didn’t receive any of Manny’s amazing boneless juicy seasoned chicken breasts! We only had around twenty and they went pretty quickly), but nothing can beat what one of our favorite brothers, Avi, brought to the party. He made (seriously) a 22″ by 3″ diameter 3lb Bacon Sausage Log! If you want to give it a quick comparison, its 2″ short of 2 Subway Footlongs, half an inch or so less in girth of a 2L Pepsi bottle, and of course, has more meat than 12 Quarter Pounds of Hamburger patties. Undoubtedly and unanimously, everyone who tried a piece of his saintly entree would agree with me in saying that it is one of the best dishes ever made by a brother (only to be rivaled by the cookings of George Lu). As if we weren’t blessed enough, the lovely ladies of Κ Φ Λ were here as well! We know you’re booked tight this month so thanks for coming out to our BBQ ladies! We also had aΚΔΦ showing love through out and ΦΣΡ making a nice appearance in between. Not to steal the spotlight, however, we also had George L, Andrea K, Kevin M, Reggie J, Mihir M, & many more Alums come over for some R&R. Undoubtedly, you guys just showing up and being there had made it just that much more fun. If there are any other alums or members of DSP who’d like to come join us, you already know you’re invited to the next one and every single one there after. Take up the offer one of these days and come hang out!
After the bbq we also had our head griller, Manny G, strumming up a couple of songs with several brothers singing along. As “campfire summer camp” as that sounds, I don’t think we did too bad and hopefully, we can get a couple of people to upload the videos (one of whom being myself).

Dinner w the Extravagant Ladies of αΚΔΦ!

Malaysian Food + α Κ Δ Φ + Δ Σ Φ = amazing. Our brothers&pledges with the sisters of α Κ Δ Φ went out to the fantastic Penang in Edison for some quality dinner bonding. We had an epic time filled with shoe stealings to birthday celebrations for no one. We thank the ladies for coming out to dinner and we hope that we can all do it again sometime soon! Afterwards, we had blast at Max Tang’s house and even after that we went to David L& George Q’s to have even more fun! I don’t think anyone has ever played one game of uno for 45 minutes while laughing hysterically about .. everything before until now. For all the sisters and brothers who didn’t go, all of you missed out! We HAVE to do this again.

Some other news and updates:
JayP is gathering the forces to bring you…

PIE A STAR! (better read as pie a brother)

We’ll give you the update soon but this exciting event has already getting a lot of attention! We’re still in the process of weighing the pans and finding the best whip cream ratios, but worry not! This even will be EPIC.
Date: TBA
Place: In Front of Brower Commons

Hunger Clean-Up:

The brothers will be volunteering with Hunger Clean-Up on April 10th at 9AM in Scott Hall 123. Details are a little fuzzy on this one but we’re essentially packing lunches and helping out soup kitchens in the area. Join our team on their website by registering and searching for Delta Sigma Phi [Captain- Jay Patel]. Food and drinks provided of course so come out and help out our community!

SeaSaw for Life April 25, 2009

May 1st, 2009 gQ1899

Last Saturday we held our first Seasaw for life philanthropy event. We raised over $150 in donations, all going towards the Kaleidoscope of Hope foundation. We had a blast doing it and we’re definitely going to do it again next year. Did anyone say 24 hour seasaw?

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped contribute to the cause and made this day an amazing day AND a special thanks to all the brothers who came out, to Avi who headed the design and building of the seasaw, John Golden our ACB President, to Andreas Klaube for putting this whole thing together and of course to his Mom Denise Klaube. Thank you all!

Here are some pictures of the day
